About the position

The Senior Sponsored Research Analyst position is located in the central Office of Sponsored Programs at Emory University. This role is pivotal in providing assistance to faculty and staff in reviewing various types of proposals for contractual awards, which can vary in complexity. The analyst will be responsible for reviewing contractual terms and conditions, often with limited guidance from supervisors or General Counsel, unless further assistance is required. A key aspect of this position involves negotiating both standard and complex research agreements or subcontracts with agencies or other third parties, ensuring that all agreements align with institutional policies and sponsor requirements. In addition to negotiation, the Senior Sponsored Research Analyst will ensure that appropriate certifications and regulatory compliance approvals are obtained by faculty as mandated by law and institutional policies. This includes preparing necessary documentation such as Notice of Award Acceptance documents and ensuring that sponsors receive the required approval letters. The analyst will interact with sponsors, faculty, and staff to resolve any legal, regulatory, or institutional issues that may arise, all while maintaining a high level of accuracy in administrative and financial award information. The role also involves responding to requests for additional information or clarification from sponsors, faculty, or staff, and maintaining required records related to contractual awards. The analyst will handle various administrative activities, including the transfer of contractual awards, project personnel changes, and administrative closeouts. Furthermore, the position includes responsibilities for training new employees and assisting management with reports and special projects.
