About the position

The Senior Sponsored Research Financial Analyst position at Emory University is a pivotal role within the Research Grants & Contracts (RGC) department. This position is primarily responsible for the post-award processing of grants and contracts, ensuring that all financial activities related to research funding are managed effectively and in compliance with university policies and federal regulations. The analyst will provide comprehensive account management, reconciliation, and resolution support for principal investigators and research support personnel across various departments and schools within the university. In this role, the analyst will advise on and interpret research funding awards, monitor and approve accounting and procurement expenditures, and provide direct support for accounts payable and receivable processes. The position also involves routine policy and procedure interpretation for academic departments, assisting in the preparation of reports for federal and sponsoring agencies. Additional responsibilities may include reviewing contracts, maintaining grant and contract files, monitoring accounts receivable and deliverable reports, and developing queries and reports on the financial system. The analyst will collaborate with division business managers to resolve contractual issues, communicate with sponsors, ensure compliance with contract regulations, and manage the closing out of contracts. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to perform other duties as assigned, adapting to the dynamic needs of the research environment at Emory University.
