About the position

The Senior Sponsored Research Financial Analyst at Emory University plays a crucial role in managing post-award processing of grants and contracts. This position involves providing account management and reconciliation support to principal investigators and research personnel, ensuring compliance with funding regulations, and assisting in financial reporting. The analyst will also interpret policies, review contracts, and communicate with sponsors to resolve issues, all while contributing to a diverse and inclusive academic community.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for post-award processing of grants and contracts.
• Provide account management, reconciliation, and resolution for principal investigators and research support personnel.
• Advise and interpret research funding awards, approve and/or monitor accounting and procurement expenditures.
• Provide direct support with accounts payable/receivable processes.
• Routinely provide policy and procedure interpretation to academic departments.
• Assist in the preparation of reports to federal and sponsoring agencies.
• Review contracts and maintain grant and contract files.
• Review invoices and monitor accounts receivable and deliverable reports.
• Develop queries and reports on the financial system.
• Work with division business managers to resolve contractual issues.
• Communicate with sponsors to ensure compliance with contract regulations and reporting requirements.
• Close out contracts and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• 5 years of professional accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably in research/sponsored programs accounting, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
