The Senior SQL Database Administrator at Xerox Holdings Corporation plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing database systems to ensure high availability and performance. This position involves owning, tracking, and resolving database-related incidents and requests, ensuring that all tasks are completed within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The administrator will be responsible for reviewing service-related reports daily, including database backups, maintenance, and monitoring, to identify and resolve any service-related issues promptly. Additionally, the role requires responding to database alerts and escalations, collaborating with application developers and systems engineers to devise strategic solutions for recurring problems. Key responsibilities include Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration, troubleshooting and resolving database issues, and performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. The administrator will also be involved in error identification, analysis, and remediation, as well as assisting with backups, restores, replication, and recovery models. Developing SQL jobs for data exports, data purges, and error monitoring is also a critical part of the role, along with performing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MS SQL Server, including database clustering and log shipping. The position also requires implementing operational automation using scripts and managing indexes and statistics effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT operations, particularly with Microsoft SQL Server, and will be expected to contribute actively to the application deployment team, deploying code to various environments such as Test, UAT, or production.
