About the position

The Senior SQL Database Developer (Advanced) is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing SQL databases and Azure services. This role requires a deep understanding of data manipulation, modeling, and security standards, as well as the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data solutions. The position emphasizes security-driven development and adherence to compliance standards, while also requiring strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement SQL databases and Azure services for enterprise-level applications.
• Gather business requirements from process owners and translate them into viable data models.
• Develop and maintain data models including logical, physical, and relational models.
• Ensure security-driven development in compliance with NIST and Microsoft Trust Center standards.
• Utilize the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process in an Agile development environment.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Application Designers, and Data Administrators on project-related tasks.
• Attend and participate in all assigned project meetings.

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of IT work experience in DBA, DBMS design, and support.
• Proficiency in Data Manipulation Language (DML), Data Query Language (DQL), and Data Control Language (DCL).
• Strong expertise in data management concepts such as normalization, aggregation, and concurrency.
• Experience with Azure Cloud services, BLOB Storage, DevOps, SQL Data Tools, MS Power Apps, SQL Reporting Services, and MS Power BI.
• Ability to create and interpret ER Diagrams, Functions, Views, and Triggers.
• Superior communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with penetration testing and internal departmental policies.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, specifically SCRUM.
