About the position

The Senior SQL Database Developer role is focused on designing, developing, and managing secure data lake systems, primarily using MS SQL Server. The position requires strong ETL and migration experience, particularly in transitioning data from on-premises to cloud environments, with a specific emphasis on Azure. The developer will collaborate with various teams, including infrastructure, DBAs, and cybersecurity, to ensure the integrity and performance of database systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure data lake systems.
• Migrate data on MS SQL platforms and understand Oracle scripts.
• Build scalable and secure database systems.
• Work with disparate teams including infrastructure, DBAs, and cybersecurity.
• Troubleshoot database issues and optimize performance.

Requirements

• Strong experience with ETL and migrations, predominantly with MS SQL Server.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
• Very strong scripting skills.
• Ability to design and develop secure data lake systems.
• Understanding of legacy architecture, system dependencies, and data relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• 7 years of team management experience.
• 7 years of experience with SQL Server 2016 and above.
• 7 years of T-SQL and Stored Procedures experience.
• 7 years of DB troubleshooting, performance, and tuning experience.
• Experience with Oracle Database design.
