About the position

The Senior SQL Database Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and migrating secure data lake systems primarily using MS SQL Server, with some involvement in Oracle databases. This role requires strong ETL and migration experience, particularly in cloud environments like Azure, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams including infrastructure, DBAs, and cybersecurity. Excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of legacy architecture and data relationships are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure data lake systems.
• Migrate data on MS SQL platforms.
• Interpret and understand Oracle scripts.
• Build scalable and secure database systems.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams, DBAs, and cybersecurity personnel.
• Troubleshoot database issues and optimize performance.

Requirements

• Strong experience with ETL and migrations, predominantly with MS SQL Server.
• Some background with Oracle databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
• Very strong scripting skills.
• Ability to design and develop secure data lake systems.
• Understanding of legacy architecture, system dependencies, and data relationships.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• 7 years of team management experience.
• 7 years of experience with SQL Server 2016 and above.
• 7 years of experience with T-SQL and Stored Procedures.
• 7 years of experience in database troubleshooting, performance, and tuning.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data migration from on-prem to cloud.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices related to database management.
