DMI, LLC is seeking a Senior SQL DBA to join our team. This position is crucial as it involves supporting an extensive environment that encompasses over 2500 databases. The primary responsibilities of this role include performance monitoring, database structure modifications, and managing backups and recoveries. The Senior SQL DBA will also be responsible for storage management, which is a critical aspect of this production DBA role. It is important to note that this is not a development DBA role, and intermediate-level experience in the specified areas is expected. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities. Attention to detail is paramount, as daily interactions with customers and multiple data center staff will occur through various channels, including in-person meetings, phone calls, and emails. The role requires the DBA to carry mobile devices and provide support during off-hours, including nights and weekends. The SQL skillsets required for this position are prioritized as follows: experience with SQL Server versions 2016, 2017, and 2019, as well as supporting SQL and MySQL in a Windows environment and MySQL and PostgreSQL in a Linux environment. The candidate should have the ability to monitor and troubleshoot database performance, modify database structures, develop backup and recovery procedures, and coordinate storage allocation while forecasting usage. Additionally, the DBA will be responsible for performing software upgrades and patching, designing database architecture, and implementing new database environments, including high availability and replication setups. Participation in after-hours on-call duties is expected, with regular shifts and on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis. The position requires a minimum of 7 years of related professional experience, with a strong emphasis on database monitoring, integration, replication, and production support. The DBA will also coordinate with functional DBAs on database operations, hardware architecture, and security, ensuring optimal database performance and user access.
