About the position

3 Reasons Consulting, LLC is seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Developer to support the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in managing and optimizing critical databases. This role involves utilizing various tools and practices to enhance database performance and reliability, directly impacting health research and surveillance efforts in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize tools such as SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), Azure Data Studio (ADS), and PowerShell for optimal SQL development.
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL databases.
• Monitor database performance using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and other diagnostic tools.
• Focus on performance tuning, troubleshooting, and reliability optimization.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop multidimensional and tabular data models with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Create interactive reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Ensure compliance with change management processes during development and upgrades.
• Provide expertise in database creation, queries, and application support.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database creation, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Experience with .NET, C++, C#, F#, Visual Basic, and Python.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science is preferred.
• Valid Secret Clearance license.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SQLCMD and Bulk Copy Program.
• Familiarity with Dynamic Management Views and SQL Server Profiler.
