About the position

CGI is seeking a Senior SQL Server DBA to join a high-performing client-based and client-facing team. This role involves working independently to implement, plan, test, troubleshoot, and manage database-related projects, primarily in a healthcare environment. The DBA will ensure the security of protected health information and address operational issues within the databases while providing documentation and support for technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, plan, test, troubleshoot, and manage database-related projects either On-Prem or in Azure.
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain SQL Server for a healthcare database environment.
  • Monitor and investigate issues with production applications.
  • Evaluate and identify operational issues within the databases.
  • Work on tickets and monitor databases related to projects.
  • Complete user requests for access, change requests, and scripts.
  • Respond to performance issues for related project database servers.

Requirements

  • At least 6+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - 2019.
  • Strong understanding of DBA concepts.
  • Proficiency in TSQL (scripting, stored procedures, triggers, query development).
  • Experience with Clustering/Always On technology, Log Shipping, Replication, and High Availability Database.
  • SQL Performance Analysis (Index Management and Query Plan Assessment).
  • Experience with SQL installation and configuration, Troubleshooting and RCA experience, Incident Management.
  • Knowledge of Best Practices and Standards in SQL.
  • Experience with SQL monitoring tools (Idera, Spotlight, SCOM, Zabbix, SQL Sentry, Foglight, SolarWinds).
  • Experience with ETL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, OLAP, OLTP.
  • Knowledge of Security and User Management.
  • Experience with Backup/Recovery and Disaster Recovery Procedures.
  • Standardized Database Maintenance experience.
  • Experience with upgrade planning, migrations, implementations, and installs for SQL Server versions including 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019.
  • Experience with Multiple Data Center management, migrations, and support.
