About the position

The Senior SSIS ETL Developer position is a full-time remote role focused on data engineering within the healthcare industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. This role requires a strong background in cloud computing, particularly with AWS and GCP, and proficiency in Microsoft BI tools to transform complex healthcare data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/data integration pipelines and data warehousing infrastructures, ensuring robust adherence to HIPAA compliance during all data handling processes.
  • Engage actively with stakeholders to elicit detailed business requirements, translating them into precise technical specifications for execution.
  • Employ SQL, Python, and other programming languages to construct performant data models while facilitating complex data queries across distributed environments.
  • Design and implement sophisticated ETL processes to effect seamless data integration from heterogeneous sources, placing a strong emphasis on data security and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize a suite of Microsoft BI tools, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Power BI, to generate comprehensive reports and interactive dashboards tailored for healthcare analytics.
  • Enforce robust data integrity protocols and ensure rigorous adherence to data governance frameworks, with particular emphasis on maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and optimize existing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, focusing on performance tuning and compliance readiness.
  • Independently manage multiple project timelines and deliverables effectively within a high-velocity work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, enhancing coordination and communication on BI projects specifically designed for healthcare applications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (Master's degree strongly preferred).
  • 5-10 years of demonstrable experience as a Business Intelligence Developer, with a concentrated emphasis on Enterprise Data Warehousing within healthcare ecosystems.
  • Extensive practical experience with AWS services such as RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, EC2, and knowledge of GCP functionalities, alongside substantial production experience employing GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
  • Highly proficient in SQL for advanced querying; familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is a distinct advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of data warehousing architectures, dimensional modeling techniques, and ETL methodologies specifically tailored to healthcare data requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, underscored by meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively, fostering teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
  • Prior experience in healthcare analytics, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), or financial systems is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of large-scale Healthcare Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) systems and their integration into BI frameworks is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft BI tools and technologies, as well as cloud certifications, are a significant plus.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively under pressure, adapting to the complexities of a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
