About the position

The Senior Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the hospital by planning, designing, and implementing financial information systems. This position is responsible for providing management with accurate financial information through research and analysis of accounts, thereby supporting the hospital's mission and goals. The Staff Accountant, on the other hand, handles general accounting duties, including account reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, and payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in employee compensation and compliance with payroll tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement financial information systems to support hospital operations.
• Research and analyze accounts to provide management with financial information.
• Perform general accounting duties including account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
• Prepare payroll and ensure accuracy in computations of earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
• Assist with other general accounting reconciliations and projects as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or equivalent work experience for Senior Staff Accountant.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of Financial Accounting experience for Senior Staff Accountant.
• Healthcare financial experience preferred for Senior Staff Accountant.
• CPA certification is desirable for Senior Staff Accountant.
• Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience for Staff Accountant.
• Two to three years of General Ledger/Financial and payroll experience for Staff Accountant.
• Solid Microsoft Office skills and experience with automated accounting systems for Staff Accountant.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as computer knowledge for Staff Accountant.
