About the position

The Controller position at our rapidly growing private equity group is a critical role that will support the management of our investments. The ideal candidate will be transaction-oriented and possess a strong understanding of financial due diligence and accounting practices. This role will involve periodic evaluations of the portfolio companies' value, ensuring that we maintain an accurate and up-to-date assessment of our investments. The Controller will work closely with the investment team, providing essential support regarding the financial due diligence process, accounting treatment of proposed structures, and selected financial reporting. This position is pivotal in ensuring that our financial practices align with industry standards and contribute to the overall success of our investment strategies. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations related to our portfolio companies. This includes not only the evaluation of financial performance but also the development of financial models to support investment decisions. The Controller will play a key role in preparing financial reports that provide insights into the performance of our investments, which will be used by senior management to make informed decisions. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to stakeholders. As part of a dynamic team, the Controller will also be involved in strategic planning and will have the opportunity to influence the direction of our investment portfolio. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to the fast-paced environment of private equity. The Controller will be expected to stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact our financial reporting and investment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Periodic evaluation of the portfolio companies' value.
  • Support the investment team with financial due diligence.

Requirements

  • Strong preference for a CPA with public/private experience.
  • Demonstrated technical accounting skills.
  • Previous experience within the private equity industry is a plus.
  • Experience with investment valuation is advantageous.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $80K to $120K plus bonus.
