About the position

The Senior/Staff Application Engineer role focuses on providing support for data center products, particularly in high-speed transceiver technology. The engineer will engage in hardware design, product validation, and system integration of high-speed Serdes into optical modules and SOC products. The position requires defining and implementing SERDES training algorithms, programming test scripts for automation, and utilizing test equipment for performance measurement.

Responsibilities

• Regularly attend technical reviews with the design team
• Participate in new product testing and develop Python scripts
• Onsite debugging of issues
• Resolve high priority issues with a proactive approach
• Collaborate to develop test plans with multiple teams and disciplines
• Create customer-facing documentation such as handbooks and Application Notes with reference designs
• Define, test, and implement complex SERDES training algorithms for multi-rack systems involving various channels.

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering
• More than 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with a bachelor's degree, or more than 3 years with a master's degree
• Demonstrated experience working with high-speed digital and mixed signal electronics
• Knowledge of adaptive signal processing, coding, and FEC algorithms
• Basic understanding of analog and digital circuits
• Proficiency in Python and C programming for Serdes automation
• Experience with high-speed test equipment such as Scopes, BERTs, and Spectrum Analyzers
• Strong debugging and data analysis skills
• Energetic, self-driven, team-oriented, and analytical
• Excellent communication, organizational, project planning, and engineering skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
