About The Position

The Senior Staff Cloud DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in the architecture, design, engineering, and maintenance of scalable cloud-native environments within a medical research company. This position focuses on leveraging AWS and Kubernetes expertise to develop technical roadmaps, facilitate cloud migrations, and mentor junior engineers, while promoting cloud excellence across the organization.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience in a Cloud, DevOps, or SRE focused position.
• 7+ years of experience working with AWS and its various services.
• 5+ years of Kubernetes experience with expertise in troubleshooting, optimization, and cluster management.
• Expertise in at least one programming language (Python or Go).
• Extensive experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or Pulumi).
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise environment (preferably with GitLab).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Serverless platforms.
• Experience with AWS services like Athena, Glue, or Sagemaker.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and maintain scalable cloud-native environments using AWS and Kubernetes.
• Develop technical roadmaps for cloud initiatives.
• Provide expertise in cloud migrations and best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote cloud excellence within the organization.
• Lead proof of concepts (POCs) for new technologies and solutions.
