About the position

We are actively seeking a Senior Staff Data Scientist to join our dynamic and innovative engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that leverage advanced data science techniques and technologies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical expertise and a strong background in data analysis, machine learning, and cloud computing. The role may allow for remote work, but it also involves travel and potential relocation to various anticipated and unanticipated locations throughout the United States, including client sites and our headquarters in San Ramon, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive data investigations and analyses of raw data to extract valuable insights. You will develop feature engineering routines that are essential for the model training process and conduct initial tests with machine learning models using default hyperparameters. A significant part of your responsibilities will include tuning machine learning models to optimize their performance. You will design the architecture and develop Python solutions that facilitate the import, analysis, transformation of data, and the training, tuning, and evaluation of machine learning models. Additionally, you will deliver solutions for demand forecasting, both on-premise and in the Azure cloud environment. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing, investigating, and resolving production issues and incidents. As a specialization lead in the Data Science discipline, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring other team members, fostering a culture of open communication, empowerment, and innovation within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data investigation and data analysis of raw data.
  • Develop Feature Engineering routines for the model training process.
  • Provide initial tests with machine learning models with default hyperparameters.
  • Conduct tuning process of machine learning models.
  • Design the architecture and develop Python solutions with functionality to import, analyze, transform data, train, tune and evaluate machine learning models.
  • Deliver solution for Demand Forecasting both on-premise and Azure cloud.
  • Analyze, investigate and solve production issues and incidents.
  • Act as a specialization lead in the Data Science discipline.

Requirements

  • Master of Science degree in Physics, Applied Math, Data Science, Computer Science, or other closely related scientific or scholarly field.
  • At least TWO (2) years of experience in the job offered or at least TWO (2) years of experience in Classical Machine Learning & Deep learning in Time Series, Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing.
  • Experience with Azure cloud platform and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with dask_cuml (Rapids).
  • Experience in business analytics tools such as Tableau and Oracle BI.
  • Proficiency in databases including Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, and BigData.
