About the position

The Senior Staff Cybersecurity Engineer at GEICO will lead complex projects within the Cyber Fusion Center, focusing on enhancing cybersecurity capabilities and improving operational processes. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to define requirements, manage project schedules, and drive impactful cybersecurity programs. The engineer will also contribute to the strategic vision and technical roadmap, ensuring effective responses to cybersecurity challenges.

Responsibilities

• Help define a clear vision, strategy and roadmap for Cybersecurity programs within GEICO's Cyber Fusion Center.
• Define business and technical requirements for software and systems to improve capabilities and efficiency.
• Collaborate with partner teams to address challenges in response operations and performance.
• Lead stakeholders to assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, and develop schedules for timely project completion.
• Assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, and manage escalations while balancing business needs and technical constraints.
• Prioritize program goals and translate stakeholders' needs into deliverables with minimal assistance.
• Define, monitor, and report key program metrics to improve program impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of organizational leadership experience in a relevant role.
• 4+ years of cybersecurity response experience, including incident response.
• 3+ years of experience working with engineering teams.
• 2+ years of technical product, program management, or software design experience.
• Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and infrastructure functions.

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years of project management experience including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
• Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams and building sustainable processes.
• Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, and resiliency.
• Experience defining and reporting on key metrics for cybersecurity operations.
