About the position

The Senior Staff IC Project/Program Manager at Renesas is responsible for managing all Timing Division Projects and leading cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of products from kick-off to release for customers. This role involves identifying necessary resources for projects, monitoring the product/program/project/portfolio from initiation through delivery, and interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters as needed. The manager will also play a crucial role in driving the Timing Division's overall expansion strategy to increase revenue and productivity by recruiting and ramping up a team of strong technical project managers to execute the product roadmap effectively. In addition to overseeing project execution, the Senior Staff IC Project/Program Manager will develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables at a portfolio level. They will ensure that project managers exhibit full ownership of their projects, becoming the go-to person for all internal teams regarding project-related questions. The role requires tracking overall project metrics and KPIs, such as schedule, risks, scope, budget, cost entitlement, and manufacturability for the entire product portfolio. The manager will participate in annual operation planning, working with the project management team to estimate, forecast, and manage individual project and program/portfolio spending to ensure actual spending aligns closely with forecasts. They will also develop best practice guidelines, processes, and execution methodologies for the team to follow, continuously improving project execution. Building trust and collaborating closely with functional leadership from other teams is essential for identifying and removing execution roadblocks, mitigating risks, and improving efficiencies. Furthermore, the Senior Staff IC Project/Program Manager will work with demand creation, sales, and marketing to align execution and sample priorities with market and customer needs. They will guide the team in preparing customer-requested RFI and RFQ responses to bid on key business opportunities. Effective communication with leadership and stakeholders is crucial to keep everyone informed of project status and to escalate issues early to prevent impacts on execution metrics.
