About the position

The Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer at Form Energy will focus on the development and automation of manufacturing equipment and processes for high-volume production of iron-air batteries. This role is crucial for defining, designing, and deploying manufacturing lines from concept to high-volume manufacturing, ensuring the successful scale-up of production facilities. The position offers an exciting opportunity to innovate manufacturing techniques and contribute to the company's mission of delivering clean energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a world-class anode advanced manufacturing team responsible for anode line development, equipment design, and deployment.
• Develop automated manufacturing techniques for electrode assembly, including pressing, welding, bulk material processing, and sintering.
• Create innovative equipment designs and automation strategies aimed at high-volume manufacturing.
• Oversee manufacturing process development, line concepts, equipment design, strategic vendor selection and management, and the handoff process to operations.
• Ensure capable processes are developed and demonstrated prior to detailed equipment design, measuring process capability and evaluating limit samples.
• Lead and coordinate strategic projects to enable breakthroughs in manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with process engineering and R&D teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly in high-volume production environments.
• Strong background in automation and equipment design for manufacturing processes.
• Experience in leading teams and managing projects in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to develop and implement innovative manufacturing techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with battery manufacturing or energy storage technologies.
