Coupang is on a mission to revolutionize the e-commerce landscape, and we are looking for a Senior Staff ML Engineer to join our Search & Discovery team. This role is pivotal in enhancing the customer experience by effectively matching billions of products to customer intent. As we build the next-generation infrastructure to support our hypergrowth, we need an experienced and passionate engineering leader who can drive efforts across the entire stack, including serving, pipelines, and machine learning. In this position, you will dive deep into the underlying components of our systems, designing and optimizing the stack end-to-end. You will be a role model for building high-quality machine learning systems and delivering results with determination. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of business needs and the ability to develop technical solutions that align with the goals of various teams and stakeholders. You will work closely with senior leadership in Search, including VPs and Senior Directors, and will have the autonomy to identify and solve key problems while exploring innovations in areas such as deep learning and large language modeling. Your responsibilities will include building end-to-end Search & Discovery systems, designing next-generation AI products, driving key developments, ensuring operational excellence in ML design, and fostering strong collaborations with partner teams. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in recruiting and developing world-class talent to strengthen our engineering capabilities.
