About the position

As a Senior Staff Security Engineer at Nu, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's security strategy. Reporting directly to the CISO, you will work closely with engineering teams to integrate security into all aspects of products and infrastructure. This hands-on role emphasizes technical leadership and collaboration, allowing you to significantly impact the security posture of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CISO to refine and document the overall security architecture.
• Elevate technical expertise within the security team and serve as a resource for security challenges.
• Foster partnerships between security and engineering teams, facilitating communication and knowledge-sharing.
• Conduct comprehensive security reviews of new and existing systems, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending mitigations.
• Participate in incident response activities to identify, contain, and remediate security incidents.
• Perform threat modeling exercises to identify and prioritize potential security risks.
• Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of security principles, best practices, and technologies.
• Proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
