About the position
The Senior/Staff Software Engineer position at a cybersecurity startup in San Jose focuses on leading the design, implementation, and scaling of complex software systems aimed at reducing the risk of cyber-attacks for large enterprises. The role involves close collaboration with the CEO and product teams to develop advanced security solutions and analytics products.
Responsibilities
- Build an advanced analytics product designed to detect and mitigate cyber threats.
- Take ownership of the design, implementation, and scalability of robust, complex software systems that meet enterprise demands.
- Create enterprise-grade identity and access management products that set new standards in security.
- Engage with challenging technologies in Security, Large-Scale Distributed Systems, AI, and Cloud, bringing innovation to every project.
- Focus on backend development to ensure the cloud-based software is resilient, scalable, and secure.
Requirements
- 8+ Years of Experience in backend development
- Proficiency in Java is preferred, but experience with Go or Python is also valued (Bonus points for Java + Go)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
- Background in large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (Azure/AD or AWS)
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience leading a team or mentoring junior engineers
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, identity, or security solutions
- Experience with Kubernetes and/or AI/ML (bonus)
