About the position

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Outreach, you will be pivotal in building and maintaining the data platform that drives the company's strategy. This role focuses on leveraging data to enhance customer success and improve sales efficiency through innovative data solutions and robust engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement our cutting-edge data platform using state-of-the-art technologies.
• Build sophisticated data pipelines for analytics, GenAI, machine learning, and business intelligence applications.
• Implement robust data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive data.
• Monitor and track data integrity, quality, and consistency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data platform components into software applications.
• Develop frameworks and tools for self-service data pipeline management.
• Mentor and train junior data engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering and data engineering, focusing on data platforms.
• Strong experience with data processing frameworks like Spark or Hadoop.
• Proficient programming skills in Python, Ruby, or Go.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with modern Lakehouse table formats like Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, or Apache Hudi.
• Good understanding of SQL and advanced performance tuning.
• Experience with infrastructure management tools like Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Familiarity with workflow management tools.
• Experience with data security and privacy measures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
