About the position

The Senior Staff Software Engineer in Test Automation at Palo Alto Networks is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering next-generation technologies within the Prisma Access Cloud Service team. This role focuses on building, automating, and running performance testing scenarios for cybersecurity products, ensuring high quality and reliability through thorough testing and innovative approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute test automation to test software features on the next-generation security platform.
• Build tools and automation scripts for inventive testing approaches.
• Suggest and implement improvements to the test process.
• File bugs and collaborate with Development to resolve issues.
• Utilize creative skills alongside focused testing to produce high-quality cybersecurity products.
• Engage in rigorous testing for specifications and assist the team with testing methods or tools for new testing.
• Work on various public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to automate cloud orchestration, visualization, and alerting mechanisms.

Requirements

• Proficient in one or more scripting/programming languages including Python or Go.
• Intermediate to Expert level experience with IPSec, BGP, L3 VPNs, SD-WAN, DHCP, TCP, UDP.
• Experience with REST API driven Automation using Python or Go.
• Experience with Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with database clusters (MySQL, BQ, Redis, Zookeeper, Neo).
• Experience with Linux or ESXi Virtualization or Docker/Kubernetes is a plus.
• M.S./B.S. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent military experience required.
• 6+ years of experience in a related field.
