About the position

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing large-scale software solutions, particularly in the areas of recommendations, rankings, and predictions. This role involves providing technical leadership on high-impact projects, managing project priorities, and facilitating alignment across teams. You will work on critical projects that influence Google's technology and user experience, leveraging your expertise in machine learning and software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Lead the design and implementation of recommendation systems, optimize ML infrastructure, and guide the development of model architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure.
• 5 years of experience building and deploying recommendation systems models in production.
• Experience developing and training TensorFlow models.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

Benefits

• Base salary range of $237,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
