About the position

The Senior Staff Systems Engineer at Astrion plays a crucial role in supporting the USAF Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division. This position involves evaluating and improving systems engineering programs, managing technical baselines, and ensuring system performance aligns with specifications. The engineer will also provide technical support and training, conduct program reviews, and implement advanced engineering techniques throughout the system lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and recommend alternative plans and improve systems engineering programs/processes.
• Perform program reviews to evaluate proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results.
• Prepare technical documents defining and recommending system/subsystem characteristics and conduct technical presentations.
• Perform validation of systems, including developing criteria and procedures, and analyze results of major engineering systems.
• Provide system/program engineering, technical support, and training for various programs and initiatives.
• Support program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes.
• Perform problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, and cost versus capability trade-off analysis.
• Implement digital engineering, digital thread, and digital twin techniques across the system lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a rigorous technical discipline.
• At least three years of experience in engineering development, with three years in the DoD.
• DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
