About the position

The Senior Statistical Data Analyst position at Washington University in St. Louis is focused on managing and analyzing data within the Xiong Lab in the Center for Biostatistics. This role involves database management, data harmonization, and statistical analysis to support various research projects, particularly those funded by the NIH. Responsibilities

  • Perform management duties as part of several large NIH-funded longitudinal data repository containing clinical, psychological, imaging, neuropathologic and biomarker data.
  • Harmonize databases across multiple independent studies by working with database teams, standardizing database dictionaries, and creating standard metadata templates for data sharing.
  • Transfer quality-controlled data to national and local data repositories and track data sharing requests.
  • Monitor and evaluate data integrity and perform quality control on all forms of data.
  • Assist with research coordination and management, including administration, scheduling, tracking, and recruitment.
  • Assist in the development of data capture forms and screens using REDCap and other EDC systems.
  • Generate routine reports on statistics and figures summarizing the current status of databases using standard statistical packages like SAS and R.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in manuscript preparation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; a combination of college education and/or relevant experience equaling seven years may substitute for this requirement.
  • Expert knowledge base and experience with database design, management, and analysis.
  • Skills in designing and executing statistical data analysis in SAS, R, Python, or other packages.
  • Experience in using REDCap for data management.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organization skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Informatics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • PC/UNIX knowledge.
  • Capable of assuming a leadership role.
