About the position

The Senior Strategic Account Executive (SSAE) at Ansys is responsible for establishing and nurturing long-term strategic relationships with key global customers to secure sustainable revenue through multi-year deals. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, achieving sales quotas, and leading collaboration with internal and external partners. The SSAE serves as the lead account manager for high-value accounts, ensuring customer needs are met while driving account growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sales activities and maintain business relationships with key customer stakeholders to generate new business and meet sales quotas.
  • Understand competitive value propositions and effectively present Ansys software solutions.
  • Identify and define solutions for customer needs, coordinating with technical teams to enhance business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with account teams, product specialists, and other functions within Ansys to ensure a synergistic approach to account management.
  • Facilitate regular touchpoint activities to strengthen relationships with key account stakeholders.
  • Document customer capabilities and metrics to demonstrate Ansys' ROI and enhance sales profitability.
  • Develop sales and technical partnerships to understand and document key technical challenges.
  • Research and analyze account information to understand customer problems, goals, and competitors.
  • Facilitate multiyear deal contract negotiations and create ROI-based proposals.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurately enter data into Salesforce.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to sales processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, business, or related field and 8+ years of experience, or 10+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated success in technical sales positions.
  • 4+ years of experience as a senior/key/named account manager.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
  • Fluent in English and the local language of the territory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Ansys products/services and pricing practices.
  • Understanding of engineering analysis and technology.
  • Knowledge of the specific territory, product line, or customer(s).
  • Proficiency in sales fundamentals and ability to execute key sales pillars independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
