About the position

The Senior Strategic Research Analyst at the Strategic Organizing Center (SOC) plays a crucial role in leading research projects and shaping campaign strategies to confront corporate power. This position involves collaboration with various teams to develop innovative research methodologies and tools, analyze market trends, and support the professional development of junior analysts. The Senior SRA will also engage in field activities with unions and coalition partners, contributing to the SOC's mission of advocating for workers' rights and social justice.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to innovation in the SOC's approach to research and campaign strategy.
  • Develop and test new tools, theories, and strategies in coordination with SOC leadership.
  • Examine market and industry trends, analyze strategies of key market players, and track relevant policy and legislative developments.
  • Design and execute comprehensive research plans.
  • Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research using a wide variety of resources and methodologies.
  • Draft and edit written work products for a wide range of internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate, review, and support the research and written work of junior analysts assigned to specific projects.
  • Provide feedback to team members in support of their skill and professional development.
  • Participate in campaign field activities with unions, workers, and coalition partners.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or higher
  • 4+ years of conducting research, including financial and corporate research
  • 3+ years of experience with union, political or community organizing
  • Proficient in strategic corporate research using a variety of quantitative and qualitative sources and methods
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling, and succinct content
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to workplace issues
  • Experience working effectively as a coordinator and/or team member across functional and organizational lines
  • Demonstrated experience training, developing, and coordinating the work of junior staff members
  • Strong analytical thinking and meticulous attention to detail
  • Dedication to maintaining high standards of work and a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently and effectively
