About the position

The Senior Structural Bridge Engineer at Mott MacDonald will primarily focus on bridge and civil structure projects, engaging in various responsibilities including design, inspections, and project management. This role involves working on transportation projects such as railways and highways, and requires a strong background in structural engineering, particularly in bridge design.

Responsibilities

• Bridge design and plan development
• Conduct field investigations and inspections
• Provide repair recommendations
• Perform type studies and structural designs
• Conduct preliminary through detailed design including quantity calculation and construction cost estimating
• Load rating and construction monitoring
• Provide expert opinions related to bridges and civil structures
• Manage transportation and infrastructure projects
• Engage with clients in a forward-facing role

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent
• Registered as a professional engineer (PE) in Ohio
• 10+ years of professional experience focusing on structural bridge design
• Experience working on structural bridge design projects in Ohio
• Familiarity with AutoDesk and Bentley products
• Experience with bridge design software such as LARSA, SAP 2000, STAAD Pro, OpenBridge, CsiBridge, MIDAS, AASHTOWARE Bridge Rating, and MDX
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
