WSP is currently seeking a Senior Structural/Bridge Engineer for our new Boise, ID office, operating under a hybrid-workplace model. This role involves engaging with our Structural Engineering Team on various projects, contributing to a growing organization dedicated to meeting client objectives and solving complex challenges. The Senior Structural/Bridge Engineer will provide technical assistance and guidance for multi-site and multi-phase projects, which may include due diligence, investigation, remediation, improvement, and construction of infrastructure in both public and private sectors. Responsibilities will encompass research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of various structural elements, particularly bridges and culverts. The engineer will substantiate reports and documentation regarding materials, installations, and construction specifications, ensuring that all responsibilities are delivered with a quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality. In this role, the engineer will perform engineering techniques on a variety of assignments with minimal supervision, review submittals and shop drawings, evaluate design calculations, examine existing structures and load ratings, and conduct project-specific analyses. The engineer will prepare necessary plans, specifications, estimates, and technical memorandums. Utilizing technical knowledge, the engineer will propose creative solutions to complex technical problems, compile and review reports, and develop an understanding of project finances. The engineer will also assist in developing schedules and objectives for the project and/or work of field staff, using necessary computer software tools to solve difficult engineering problems while adhering to agreed-upon budgets and schedules. Collaboration is key in this position, as the engineer will coordinate closely with the team on projects and other disciplines to support client needs. Responsibilities include managing tasks within projects, participating in or leading structural or project-related team meetings, mentoring entry-level engineers, and developing client relationships. The engineer is expected to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Other duties may be required based on business needs.
