About the position

The Senior Structural Engineer position at Orchard LLC involves working remotely on a contract basis for a well-established solutions provider in the defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure sector. The role focuses on supporting long-term project work, with a performance period of 6-12 months depending on project needs. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with FAA and industry standards, conducting tower assessments, and collaborating with field staff to improve tower conditions.

Responsibilities

• Develop an in-depth knowledge of FAA and industry standard requirements, codes, and standards.
• Assist in the development of survey reports and make recommendations based on information gathered during the site survey and professional judgment.
• Assist in preparing tower condition reports based on data from site surveys by others.
• Assess towers for fall protection violations, checking plumb and twist, and determining recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with field staff.
• Review reports provided by field technicians, revise as needed, and make engineering recommendations on tower improvements.
• Interact with team members in weekly meetings.
• Review field reports for errors and prepare for FAA review, addressing comments from the FAA and performing intradisciplinary checks.

Requirements

• PE Degreed Structural Engineer from an ABET accredited program with 4+ years of experience after graduation.
• PE Registration Required.
• Tower design experience required.
