About the position

MEGI Engineering Inc. is a full-service engineering design and consulting firm located in Portland, OR, serving the pulp and paper, industrial, power and utility, and chemical markets. The successful candidate must be competent in performing engineering for all phases of projects, have experience designing steel, wood, and concrete structures, be proficient in applying US Building Codes and Reference Standards, and be able to independently work through basic engineering tasks or completion of entire small projects. In this role, you will work closely with the Lead Structural Engineer to complete design tasks related to steel and concrete structures, building and equipment foundations, and wind and seismic lateral force resisting systems. Additionally, you will interface directly with clients and vendors, help oversee the development of structural drawing packages and 3D models created in AutoCAD and Revit platforms, and possess the ability and initiative to independently oversee and execute projects of small size and moderate complexity. Your duties will involve reviewing vendor drawings, shop drawings, and construction submittals, participating in internal quality-control structural reviews, and gathering information from project sites, including field measurements and document research. You will also aid in the development of construction scope-of-work documentation and mentor junior engineers and engineering interns.
