Metromont Corporation is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Hiram, GA. This position is designed for senior-level structural engineers who possess a Professional Engineer (PE) certification and are ready to take on technically complex projects. The Senior Structural Engineer will provide leadership, training, and technical expertise, ensuring that all engineering calculations and details for products and connections are performed accurately and efficiently. This role requires the ability to independently manage engineering design aspects of projects with minimal guidance, making it essential for candidates to have a strong background in structural engineering and precast concrete design. In this role, you will lead project teams, perform lateral analysis and design, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. You will be responsible for reviewing contract documents to understand project requirements, attending and leading project coordination meetings, and writing and reviewing complex requests for information (RFIs). The Senior Structural Engineer will also serve as the primary point of contact for Metromont engineers and subcontractors, resolving complicated technical questions and problems. Additionally, you will check engineering design calculations and details of others, including external consultants, to ensure adherence to Metromont standards and the Engineering Design Process. Regular plant visits and participation in relevant plant meetings will be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to stay informed about production processes. You will also be expected to become licensed in states where engineering work is performed and review and stamp erection drawings, calculations, and repair details as assigned. Evaluating design costs compared to estimates and completing repairs without assistance are also key aspects of this position. Participation in external industry organizations such as PCI and ACI may be required, along with involvement in pre-sale engineering design processes as requested by the sales department. Safety is paramount, and adherence to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations is expected.
