About the position

Clayco is currently seeking a licensed Senior Structural Engineer to join our design team. In this role, you will be working closely with in-house Development, Architecture, and Construction teams to provide Structural Design and Quality Assurance on a variety of industrial projects, including distribution, manufacturing, food and beverage, and cold storage. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in projects from the very beginning, allowing you to foresee preliminary design problems and contribute to solutions that enhance the overall project outcome. As a Senior Structural Engineer at Clayco, you will focus on problem-solving within a collaborative environment where the Architect, Engineer, and Contractor work as a unified team. This integrated approach allows for project designs that are aligned with construction schedules rather than relying solely on fully finished packages. You will benefit from preliminary pricing advantages due to our historical construction experience, and value engineering will be an ongoing process as the design is refined. Your input will be crucial in identifying construction issues early on, and you will have the opportunity to design projects that leverage the builder's strengths. Additionally, you will have the chance to conduct site visits and Quality Assurance checks, which will assist in resolving field issues and building strong relationships with field staff, including Superintendents and other on-site personnel. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced design environment and is eager to work on creative, complex, award-winning, and high-profile jobs.
