Our team of interdisciplinary engineers works collaboratively with clients to design buildings and processes that are on track for safety, performance, and sustainability. In this role, you will work independently on small and medium projects, and as a team leader of larger projects responsible for the work of Structural Engineers. You will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems or products for a project. Your responsibilities will include completing calculations and drawings for small and medium projects, developing job-specific discipline specifications, leading junior engineers in complex projects, and coordinating with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines. You will also perform Construction Administration duties, communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while nurturing existing client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects.
• Develop job specific discipline specifications independently for less complex projects.
• Lead junior engineers in complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients.
• Understand industry standard design processes and construction means and methods.
• Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service.
• Nurture existing client relationships and assist with the development of design standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 or more years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, Master's Degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering license is required, Structural Engineering license is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of Architects, Engineers, and Owner clients effectively.
• Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings.
• Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
• Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite).
• Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.).
