About the position

The Senior Structural Engineer will be a key member of the StructureCare team, responsible for servicing growth territories and ensuring the integrity of infrastructure through engineering and restoration solutions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management, and client interaction to assess and address structural needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Surveys and evaluates existing structures for maintenance and repair needs.
  • Prepares and issues associated inspection reports for use by the customer and Territory Manager.
  • Communicates assessments and follow-up plans with business development co-workers and assists in conveying technical concepts to clients.
  • Engineers all structural repairs within assigned territory.
  • Reviews calculations, structural drawings, and construction documents and related questions as required.
  • Research building codes and specifications as required.
  • Provides technical sales support to Business Development Representatives for prospective customers and existing clients.
  • Provides technical advice and guidance to project personnel and subcontractors as needed.
  • Attends technical seminars and training programs to ensure subject matter expertise is up to date.
  • Develops and enhances customer relationships through excellent service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Assists in the development and training of engineering co-workers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • E. License and 7+ years of relevant experience in concrete construction/concrete repair/concrete restoration/forensic investigation or 12+ years relevant concrete design experience (without a P.E. license) and 7+ years of relevant concrete restoration/forensic experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing forensic and restoration engineering duties on existing parking structures of all construction types.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction processes, building materials, equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, OSHA, and standards applicable to the discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using non-destructive testing equipment, such as ground penetrating radar, half-cell potential, and similar diagnostic tools.
