About the position

The Test Systems Engineer (Factory Test) at Relativity Space is responsible for designing and implementing fluids and pressure test systems within the factory. This role involves overseeing the entire design cycle from conceptualization to operational readiness, ensuring that structural test stands are built to support various testing operations. The engineer will collaborate with multiple teams to deliver projects on time and within budget, contributing to the innovative approach of 3D printing rockets.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze steel weldments for applying test loads to hardware.
• Create drawings and work instructions for assembling 3D printed parts into test stands.
• Write and execute test day procedures.
• Support design and data reviews of flight structures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a full cycle design engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis and testing methods.
• Fundamental knowledge of structural strength, stability, and fatigue failure mechanisms.
• Understanding of additive and traditional manufacturing processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with NX/TeamCenter.
• Experience using Nastran and ANSYS.
• Demonstrated record of timely project completion.
• Experience in time-critical operations such as test operations and launch operations.
