About the position

The Senior Studio Production Technician is responsible for the design, setup, and support of television and radio studio production for a multi-channel retailer. This role requires technical expertise and creative innovation to contribute to the overall technical strategy of productions, ensuring flawless operation of video equipment and optimizing studio setups.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultation on production design for video, audio, lighting, and presentation.
• Meet with client production teams to understand event scope and provide strategic solutions.
• Coordinate technical production needs for all studio productions, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Facilitate equipment rental and other production requirements.
• Conduct quality checks and optimize facilities and event assets prior to production.
• Assist with presenter preparation, including direction and rehearsal facilitation.
• Oversee postproduction needs, including basic editing and delivery of recordings.
• Organize event metrics and feedback, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Participate in assessments of technical challenges and oversee incident reports.
• Collaborate on strategy recommendations for studio and event spaces based on operational requirements.
• Participate in meetings to ensure alignment on event procedures and production briefs.
• Oversee production design, setup, and configuration of control room elements for high-quality outcomes.
• Determine required production studio assets and oversee testing and quality control.
• Support post-production needs, including content editing for event recordings.
• Mentor Event Technicians and collaborate on training programs.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on production equipment and troubleshoot complex issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in studio production or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of video equipment and technology.
• Strong decision-making skills for real-time adjustments during productions.
• Experience in technical directing, audio mixing, and lighting design.
• Ability to mentor and train junior technicians.
