About the position

The Senior Substation Civil/Structural Engineer will play a crucial role in leading and designing high voltage utility Civil Substation projects. This position involves collaborating with various electric utility disciplines, performing design reviews, and overseeing the development of bid and construction packages. The role also includes mentoring junior staff and ensuring quality control on design packages while maintaining compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and design high voltage utility Civil Substation projects.
• Perform design reviews of civil/structural components including substation structure design, foundation design, and oil spill containment design.
• Oversee the work of junior staff and contribute to their development.
• Ensure quality control on design packages for client projects.
• Participate in client-facing operations such as lunch and learns and kick-off meetings.
• Conduct site visits to client substation facilities and travel for client meetings and industry events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of related experience in civil/structural engineering.
• PE Licensure preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPILE software.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
