About the position

The Senior Substation Civil/Structural Engineer will play a crucial role in leading and designing high voltage utility Civil Substation projects. This position involves collaborating with various electric utility disciplines and ensuring quality control on design packages. The engineer will also be responsible for mentoring junior staff and contributing to bids and proposals, while maintaining compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Oversee the work of junior staff and contribute to their development.
• Contribute to bids and proposal development for substation projects.
• Take on a responsible engineer role on main client projects, ensuring quality control on design packages.
• Conduct site visits to client substation facilities and attend client meetings and industry events as needed.
• Comply with quality control and safe work practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of related experience in civil/structural engineering.
• PE Licensure preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software.
• Familiarity with STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPILE software.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
