About the position

We are in search of a Senior Substation Site Civil Engineer to join our diverse and fast-paced organization. As a core team member, you will be interacting with other electric utility disciplines, playing a valuable part in leading and designing high voltage utility Civil Substation projects. This position offers remote capabilities for select candidates located within the client servicing territories and a hybrid work schedule, allowing for 2-3 days a week in the office. In this role, you will be responsible for land development permitting, including NPDES, stormwater management, and knowledge of other typical local, state, and/or federal regulations and permit requirements. You will research additional site data through various sources and engage in site layout, grading, and drainage design. Your expertise will also extend to stormwater modeling and design, erosion and sediment control design, access road design, utility coordination and design, retaining wall layout and design, and documentation of all supporting calculations. You will be involved in quantity take-offs, construction drawings, construction specifications, and construction observation and field engineering. Coordination and collaboration with other design disciplines will be essential to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with four (4+) years of directly applicable civil-site design experience.
  • P.E. license preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software (preferred) and/or MicroStation OpenSite Designer software.
  • Experience with Hydraflow, StormWise (ICPR), and various other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling & design programs.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and other general software tools.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Team player with ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • Able to execute projects and handle clients successfully with limited supervision.
  • Willing to travel, up to 25%.
  • Authorized to work in U.S.
