About the position

The Senior Supply Chain Operation Manager plays a pivotal role in the Capacity Supply Chain and Provisioning (CSCP) organization, which is essential for supporting the growth of cloud services, including AI. This position is responsible for managing the execution of supply chain operations, ensuring that the infrastructure required for cloud services is delivered efficiently and effectively. The CSCP organization focuses on traditional supply chain functions such as planning, sourcing, making, and delivering, while also managing the supportability, decommissioning, and disposition of data center assets worldwide. The role involves overseeing the performance of business operations and the supply of hardware for data centers, ensuring reliable on-time performance, optimized costs, and accurate information across the supply base and internally within the organization. As a Senior Supply Chain Operation Manager, you will act as the key connecting link between the System Integrator (SI) and internal teams, including Sourcing, Commodity Management, Capacity Planning, and Capacity Provisioning and Execution. This role requires a strong focus on customer service fulfillment metrics and the establishment of key performance indicators to ensure timely and defect-free server delivery. You will be responsible for driving proactive communication and root-cause resolution to address any issues that arise in the supply chain process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, with a focus on production scheduling and factory operations. You will be expected to monitor factory operation metrics, coordinate internal and external messaging regarding demand planning and build orders, and manage engineering changes and material readiness assessments. Continuous improvement and process initiatives will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will the management of supplier engagement processes and the communication of trade-offs between supplier capabilities and business needs. This role requires a high level of collaboration with cross-functional teams and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support Production Control Management processes and strategies across the Supply Chain Operation Management function of CSCP.
  • Act as the face of the SCOM organization to partner with the Engineering Group to understand customer requirements and develop strategies to support business needs.
  • Coordinate and communicate internal and external messaging on changes to demand planning and build orders, including factory production planning and impact assessments.
  • Monitor factory operation metrics and manage engineering changes, material readiness assessments, demand and build order prioritization, and supply allocation decisions.
  • Focus on production control activities to develop supplier operational/production processes and transform those processes into system engineering tools, emphasizing automation.
  • Develop and drive internal and external key performance indicators and metrics, including SLA monitoring, production cycle time, on-time delivery, lead-time, factory capacity, product transition, and risk analysis.
  • Achieve delivery performance targets while evaluating opportunities and supporting process updates to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Manage supply base engagement processes, including supplier operational review meetings, metrics, improvement plans, and issue resolution.
  • Communicate trade-offs between suppliers and business needs effectively.
  • Manage continuous improvement and process initiatives alongside day-to-day business operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operation Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 7+ years of supply planning, operation, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience.
  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operation Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years of supply planning, operation, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience.
  • Ability to meet customer and/or government security screening requirements, including a Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice-to-haves

  • Lean Sigma black/green belt certification, Project Management certification, Kaizen certification, or relevant project and process improvement experience preferred.
  • MS/MBA preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and set clear expectations.
  • Capable of performing complex data analysis to identify problems or opportunities to improve supply chain performance.
  • High comfort with handling multiple ongoing priorities and escalations.
  • Customer-focused with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in ambiguous situations and deal effectively with conflicting priorities and change.
  • Experience managing volume planning and contract manufacturing or integration/assembly in high-tech electronics.
  • Proficient with SQL, Power BI, and Excel modeling.
