About the position

The Senior Supply Chain Planning Analyst at Dorman Products is responsible for enhancing the material planning function within the supply chain organization. This role focuses on optimizing supply planning and inventory strategies to improve service levels, increase inventory turns, and support the company's strategic goals. The analyst will collaborate cross-functionally to develop planning strategies and lead initiatives that optimize inventory positions and customer serviceability, requiring strong analytical and material planning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional projects to support strategic business initiatives and planning support for acquisitions or new business segments.
  • Coordinate with IT and analytics teams to develop reports, dashboards, and system improvements for the supply planning process.
  • Work with commercial and demand planning teams to analyze demand patterns and perform capacity studies for future growth.
  • Conduct supply chain network optimization analyses to reduce costs while meeting service level requirements.
  • Drive improvements in inventory turns by optimizing planning parameters such as EOQs, safety stock, and ordering methods.
  • Collaborate with functional areas to manage supply challenges, including leading expedite processes and conducting root-cause analysis for continuous improvement.
  • Utilize analytical skills to work with large datasets, analyze problems, and develop decision-support tools and recommendations.
  • Mentor material planners to enhance their skills and ensure accurate work completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business.
  • 5+ years of experience as a supply chain planning professional.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including executive presentation skills.
  • Strong ERP and MRP system experience.
  • Solid understanding of inventory planning theory, methods, and techniques.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA is preferred.
  • APICS certification is preferred.
