About the position

The Senior Supply Chain Project Manager at RECARO Aircraft Seating is responsible for representing the Purchasing team in program and customer reviews, acting as a liaison between functional departments. This role involves evaluating and assessing new development and customization projects in line with the RECARO Americas Purchasing Strategy, contributing to supply chain optimization, continuous improvement, and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Purchasing representative for all OEBs, defining and agreeing on lead times and risks.
  • Plan all purchasing activities, critical parts, milestones, and lead times for dedicated projects.
  • Report on current project status and implement corrective actions to ensure target realization.
  • Provide KPI status overview and track according to SP/SPS Shop Floor Management process.
  • Highlight critical topics within the team and manage the escalation process.
  • Ensure raw material availability at suppliers for all parts in cooperation with involved departments.
  • Implement logistics concepts for all concerned parts and suppliers.
  • Prepare purchasing specifications for PSC/PDP, including latest SP targets and approvals.
  • Define purchasing targets in each project phase for concerned projects.
  • Assure required raw materials and technologies in PSC/PDP for global sourcing.
  • Track all development suppliers in responsible projects, ensuring quality gates are met on time.
  • Implement purchasing risk management for all responsible projects and track mitigation actions.
  • Define critical parts and initiate mitigation actions in cooperation with relevant teams.
  • Report risk overview status and actions within the project team.
  • Ensure successful implementation of the commodity purchasing strategy in all responsible PSC/PDP.
  • Present frequent PSC/PDP status updates to SPG, SPC, and SPT.
  • Define and track long lead items and critical parts, ensuring timely delivery of required deliverables.
  • Track all P/N of concerned commissions to ensure on-time SOP and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor milestones for engineering and purchasing to ensure on-time delivery and highlight any deviations in team meetings.
  • Identify and review cost tracking overviews for each responsible project, ensuring transparency and corrective actions as needed.
  • Define required Dispo/GMK parts and verify on-time availability during negotiations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering is required; Master's Degree is a plus.
  • 8 years of experience in Purchasing, Materials Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role with extensive knowledge of aircraft seats.
  • 2 years of SAP experience; MS Office Suite required.
  • Experience with SQL, Oracle, Access, QLICK View, and Crystal reports is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Oracle or other ERP Systems is a plus.
  • Six Sigma - Green, Black, or Master Black belt preferred.
  • Project Management (PMP) Certification is preferred.
