About the position

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator with an active Secret clearance to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both unclassified and classified systems. This role is fully onsite in Fairfax, Virginia, and involves ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, maintaining system integrity, and implementing necessary upgrades. The position requires collaboration with management to understand system needs and administer large-scale Windows-based environments.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain smooth operation of computer systems in networked or stand-alone configurations.
  • Maintain system integrity and upgrade systems and/or servers as required.
  • Create and document new methods supporting network/system operations and implement changes to procedures.
  • Consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff in problem resolution.
  • Coordinate and perform operation and/or maintenance activities for networks/servers.
  • Identify recurring problems and recommend steps to reduce their severity or frequency.
  • Plan for the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies.
  • Utilize system software to monitor the performance of system files and manage system data for performance efficiencies.
  • Study system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures.
  • Serve as SME level System Administrator for unclassified and classified systems.
  • Collaborate with DEA management to understand system needs and recommend configurations, updates, and activities to meet those needs.
  • Administer large-scale Windows-based environments, commercial off-the-shelf applications, and government-developed enterprise applications.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise management software.
  • Provide Windows administration, server monitoring, and troubleshooting in physical and virtual environments.
  • Configure, manage, and monitor Windows Internet Information Services (IIS) applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 12+ years of systems administration experience or commensurate experience.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain DEA suitability.
