About the position

The Senior System Administrator at Teledyne Technologies is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the server, storage, database, network, client, and communication infrastructure for the organization. This role requires a high level of autonomy and decision-making, with significant influence on the organization's future direction. The position demands expertise in various operating systems, network administration, and cybersecurity practices, ensuring the integrity and security of the IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain server, storage, database, network, client, and communication infrastructure.
  • Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
  • Utilize network administration tools and techniques, and understand networking principles such as TCP/IP and DNS.
  • Manage Active Directory Domain services including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Objects, and LDAP.
  • Configure and execute vulnerability scanning tools and perform remediation steps based on findings.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly and configure new services as necessary.
  • Utilize SIEM tools and other cybersecurity software to maintain security standards.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to other Systems Administrators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required certification: DoD 8571.01M, DoD 8140.01M approved Information Assurance-Technical (IAT) Level II or III certification such as CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge and in-depth experience with Windows Server O/S, MS Clustering, SharePoint, and server infrastructure technologies.
  • Thorough understanding of Local and Wide Area Networking, including routing protocols and switching technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and desktop operating systems.
