About the position

At Raytheon, we are committed to providing exceptional IT systems administration in a diverse environment that includes both Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux systems. This role requires a deep understanding of Windows Server internals and Linux fundamentals, particularly in areas such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication methods. As a member of our team, you will work in a fast-paced technological environment, utilizing your troubleshooting skills to resolve technical problems that range from moderate to high complexity. This includes integrating hardware and operating systems to ensure seamless operations. In addition to technical skills, you will be responsible for understanding data RAID configurations and backup technologies. You will install and configure software applications as requested by end users, and collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain stringent security requirements. Documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures will also be part of your responsibilities, along with other tasks as assigned. This position requires the ability to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within six months of your start date. Our systems operate 24/7, which may occasionally necessitate work beyond standard hours. Travel may be required up to 10% per year, depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Utilize troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high complexity.
  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
  • Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
  • Understand and implement data RAID and backup technologies.

Requirements

  • Typically, a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience or 6 years of directly related experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Must have Linux or Windows experience.
  • Experience with Active Directory, VMware, Administration, backup and recovery.

Nice-to-haves

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
  • Experience using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
  • Scripting Experience.
