About the position

The Systems Administrator at Teledyne Technologies is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the server, storage, database, network, client, and communication infrastructure for the organization. This role requires a high level of autonomy and decision-making, as the individual will influence the future direction of the organization through their technical expertise and judgment. The position demands a strong understanding of security protocols, network administration, and system management across various operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement server, storage, database, and network infrastructure.
  • Maintain and operate the enterprise's communication infrastructure.
  • Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Manage Active Directory Domain services including DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects.
  • Configure and execute vulnerability scanning tools and perform remediation steps.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly and manage administrative tools.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to other Systems Administrators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience.
  • Required certification: DoD 8571.01M, DoD 8140.01M approved Information Assurance-Technical (IAT) Level II or III certification.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server products.
  • Understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS) and network administration tools.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and cybersecurity software.

  • Project management skills
  • Familiarity with desktop applications and end-point anti-virus software
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and change control methodologies.
