About the position

The Senior System Administrator plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise and project management within the realm of computer systems at University Health. This position is responsible for the implementation and operation of various computer systems that support financial/payroll, supply chain, human resources, and administrative functions. The Senior System Administrator will organize and schedule a variety of major and complex computer system tasks, ensuring that all programming and system operations are executed in a timely and proficient manner, adhering to departmental and University Health policies and procedures. In addition to technical responsibilities, the individual in this role must maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other staff members at University Health. This includes collaborating with various teams to ensure that system implementations meet the needs of the organization. The Senior System Administrator will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned, which may be defined in performance evaluations and in accordance with University Health policies and procedures. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Senior System Administrator will be expected to stay current with technological advancements and apply this knowledge to improve system performance and efficiency. Overall, this role is integral to the successful operation of University Health's computer systems, requiring a blend of technical skills, project management capabilities, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide computer technical expertise and project management for computer systems.
  • Implement and operate computer systems used for financial/payroll, supply chain, human resources, and administrative functions.
  • Organize and schedule major and complex computer system tasks, including programming.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental and University Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other University Health staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or defined in performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data processing, mathematics, clinical, or a related field is required.
  • Six years of programming and system analysis experience is required.
  • Proficiency in at least one computer system language and data management methodology on one or more computer platforms used at University Health.
  • Work experience using ERP applications (preferably PeopleSoft, Premier, UKG Dimensions), 3m, Hyland Onbase Document Management, API, Dell Boomi, Report Writing (Tableau, SQL), Point, Adobe Products, MS Office, HIM, TCP/IP, FTP/SFTP (Globalscape) is preferred.
  • Experience with programming languages such as ASP, Visual Basic, SQL, C++, and PeopleSoft development is preferred.
  • Familiarity with databases like Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and Cache is required.
  • Experience with operating systems such as Windows, UNIX, and Cache is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with report writing tools like Tableau and SQL.
  • Familiarity with API integration and development.
  • Knowledge of document management systems like Hyland Onbase.
